Delbert Edward Brown's Obituary
Â"He fought the good fight, and ran a strong race!Â" He was born September 24, 1934 to Martin F. Brown and Edna F. (Kirk) Brown, of Tacoma, WA, and was the fifth child of eight. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, clam digging, camping, and hiking and demonstrated this in service as a former President of the Tacoma SportsmenÂ's Club. He was an excellent singer and participated in choir in high school, and was a member of a traveling quartet in the Marines Corps. He was an amazing athlete in high school where he participated in basketball, track and field, and baseball. He attended Pacific Lutheran College on a basketball scholarship. He even had a tryout one summer for the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball organization. Del was an avid sports fan and had many hobbies and interests. Delbert passed away on December 17, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Violet J. Brown, his son Steven and wife Katherine, grandsons Joshua and Nathanael, daughter Lisa Brown and grandson Brian Faberski, daughter Jill Vanskike and Tara Murker, daughter Lana Pedrique and granddaughters Mariana and Liliana. Other survivors include his sisters Esther Schneider, Darlene Little and (husband Jim), and Donna Thompson, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Martin and mother Edna, sister Pearl and brothers Earl, Martin (Brownie), and Roy. DelbertÂ's life will be celebrated at his memorial service that will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, Aspen Chapel and reception to follow on January 10th, 2004 at 1:00 PM.
