Dee Crews' Obituary
Mabel Dee Crews went peacefully to be with her Lord on April 5, 2018 at the age of 94. Dee was born in Marion, Kansas on October 5, 1923 to Katie (Shibbehute) and John Hagen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Crews, in 2016 after 38 years of marriage, her son, Don Coffman, in 2011, and her daughter, Deloris Coffman, in 1953. Also preceding her in death were her two brothers, Joe Hagen and John Hagen, and her three sisters. Anna Carrice, Ruth Taylor and Lee Nelson. She is survived by her nephew Larry (Janet) Taylor of Pampa, Texas, nieces Velda Winfrey and Vickie Kim, stepsons Kyle and Keene Crews, and three generations of nieces and nephews.
Dee and her husband Jim were highly involved with the Washington Midget Racing Association (WMRA) for many years, winning the championship in 1970 and 1984. Dee organized countless WMRA awards banquets and her efforts were highly praised. Dee and Jim were avid Seattle Seahawks fans holding season tickets for more than 15 years. The family wishes to thank Marianne Kowalski and Mayra Leyva and her staff at the Ocean Breeze Care Home for the loving care rendered to Dee in her last two years.
A family graveside service for Dee was held on April 14, 2018 at Mountain View Cemetery with a memorial service to be held on May 30, 2018 at Central Lutheran Church in Tacoma.
