We gather in heartfelt remembrance of Debra Marie "Debbie" Overby, a radiant beacon of love, creativity, and strength, who graced this world from June 6, 1953, to December 4, 2023. Born in Tacoma, Washington, Debbie's life was a rich tapestry of love, dedication, and artistic expression.
Debbie's journey was marked by an unwavering commitment to her family, friends, and community. She shared a beautiful life with her beloved spouse, Mead Duncan Overby III, and was a loving mother to Brandy Harrison-Wethal and Michael Overby. And cared for her step-children; Benjamen Smith, Roberto Overby Rosales, Timothy Overby and Jessica Overby. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren; Nicholas, Christian, Audrey, Andreas, Emilia, Alex, Mary, Nalianna, Yasena, Alessandra, Ellara,Gabriel, Trevor, Lilieanna, Brylee, Brayden and Paislee. These precious souls brought immense joy to her life.
Professionally, Debbie was a paragon of excellence and versatility. Her career spanned various roles, including an Executive Assistant at Pierce College, a massage therapist, an energy practitioner, and a medical assistant. Her career was a testament to her multifaceted talents and her ability to touch lives in numerous ways.
Debbie's hobbies and interests were a reflection of her vibrant spirit. A fabulous cook and the #1 Beatles fan, her love for music, animals, and the arts knew no bounds. She was an oracle card advisor, an avid reader, an eloquent writer with beautiful handwriting, an artist, and a jewelry and mala designer. Her creative flair shone brightly as a craft enthusiast and Silver Level dance performer with Arthur Murray School of Dance.
In her free time, Debbie found joy in dancing, singing, and vacationing in California. Her time with family and friends was cherished, filled with laughter, wisdom, and boundless love.
Described as intuitive, courageous, organized, free-spirited, and empathetic, Debbie's personality was a blend of intelligence, resourcefulness, and support. She was articulate, opinionated, and outspoken - a true problem solver. Her creativity and artistic nature were matched by her protective and dependable character.
As we bid farewell, we invite you to join us in celebrating her remarkable life at a graveside service on January 6, 2024, at 2:30 pm at Mt. View Funeral Home in Tacoma, WA, where her journey will be honored with love and reverence. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place at Mt. View Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the organizations Debbie cherished most, Operation Smile and Posado’s Safe Haven.
Debbie's memory will be eternally treasured in the hearts of those she touched. Her legacy of love, creativity, and resilience will continue to inspire us all. We celebrate her life, cherish her memories, and hold her spirit close, forever grateful for the time we shared with her.
