Dean Herbert Sellin's Obituary
Dean H. Sellin
Dean H. Sellin, 68, of Tacoma, passed away May 12, 2009, of COPD. There were no services. His remains were scattered in Commencement Bay. Dean is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Jo-Li Sellin, of Anchorage. Also, an aunt and uncle in Ephrata, an aunt in San Francisco, and cousins in Washington, California, Maryland, Montana, and Germany. He is also survived by his numerous good and true friends who mourn his loss in Tacoma, from Hawaii to Hong Kong and Taiwan, and from Sydney to Skagway and North. Dean was born in Seattle in 1940 and raised in Anchorage. Settling on the West Coast in 1962, Dean embarked on two careers, the longest of which was most satisfying: escorting Pacific Rim tours, including Alaska, for Grand Circle Travel, then a subsidiary of AARP. He retired from Pierce (County) Transit after fourteen years in 2005. Dean's family extends sincere thanks for the compassion shown him by Franciscan Hospice, Allenmore Medical Center, and Orchard Park. Memorials may be made to an organization that cares for animals the way Dean did: The Dugan Foundation, Box 7028, Tacoma, WA 98417.
