David A Mayfield's Obituary
David Anthony Mayfield filled every room with energy and quick laughter. His love of fishing, daytime TV, Army movies, and an ice-cold Bud Light showed his gift for finding fun in simple moments. His favorite thing to be in the world was a father and grandfather.
Born in Sacramento, California, on April 26th, 1961, David grew up with a drive as strong as his opinions. That spirited nature carried him through each chapter, creating stories friends still share with a smile. He loved playing baseball with his brothers, his community and eventually is children. His favorite sports team was the Pittsburg Steelers, many of us remember him wearing his infamous Steelers leather jacket.
“He had a big personality, was stubborn, and liked by all.” Those words sum up the man who turned casual gatherings into lasting memories and who never backed down from a friendly debate. He liked to laugh the most, even joking he would try to do stand up comedy at the local comedy club.
David passed away in University Place, Washington, on April 2nd, 2026, at 64 surrounded by his loved ones. As we celebrate his beautiful life, many of us will remember him by casting a line, watching sports with a cold beer, or by his time in the Army. The joy he sparked lives on in every shared story and every toast raised in his honor.
