David Alan Kalinski Obituary (Addendum)
David was born June 5th, 1948 to Adolph and Darlene Kalinski in Tacoma, WA and passed away June 24th, 2023.
Toward the end of his life, David and his wife, Kathleen (married 6/26/2016), enjoyed living in their waterfront home on Whiteman Cove (Longbranch. WA) and he loved driving his corvette.
In addition to being survived by his wife, Kathleen, he is survived by his son, David of Tacoma, WA, daughter Laura Opstedal of Bozeman, MT, brother Daniel of Sequim, WA, sister Dara Edwards of Graham, WA and several well loved grandchildren.
David graduated from Mount Tahoma High School in 1966 and proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War between 1967 and 1970. He was a volunteer fire fighter for University Place FD from 1975 to 2001 and also served as the elected Fire Commissioner from 1998 to 2001. David retired as store manager from Safeway Stores, Inc. after 40 years. He was always a devoted friend as well as a dedicated, hard working and fair boss.
David’s memory will forever remain in my heart and in the hearts of his other loved ones. He will be laid to rest with military honors near his parents at Mountain View Cemetary, Lakewood, WA.
Donations in his name can be made to the National Alzheimer’s Association.
