David Victor Jordan's Obituary
David Victor Jordan PhD of Richland, WA passed away July 11, 2014 following a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Dave was born in Tacoma, WA and was preceded in death by his father Dick Jordan. He leaves his mother, Barbara J. Rauscher and various aunts, uncles and cousins.
Dave graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Washington in 1987 and received his doctoral degree in Nuclear Physics from MIT in 1994. Dave was devoted to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and placed Him above all else in his life. Dave had great love and passion for mathematics and science and was described by Professor Wm. Bertozzi of MIT as being “one of the most highly intelligent and intrinsically imaginative” students he had ever mentored. He went on to say that this combination was not often found and gave Dave the ability to be an extremely gifted problem-solver. Dave’s great wit and subtle humor, his kindness and compassion for those less fortunate, and his unwavering devotion to God and family will be truly missed by those who knew him best.
A Celebration of Dave’s Life will be held August 3rd at 2 pm at Mt. View Funeral Home 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW Lakewood, WA 98499
