I'm so glad that we could re-connect in the last few years. You mean the world to me and I'm grateful for the wonderful Harris/Claybaugh heritage you gave me. So grateful for all our chats by phone over the years. Though I would have loved to have had you more in my life, all things work out for good and in God's timing. I am blessed to call you my Father. Thank you for your dedicated service to our country and true patriotism. Dad - I love you and I know you are at peace now and finally getting rest that you so desperately wanted. I feel so thankful that I got to spend so much time with you and that my daughter got to grow up with you in her life. I will miss our great conversations we used to have and your unique outlook on life, but I learned so much from you and am grateful for the way you helped to shape me into the person I am today. I met Dave in the late 1980's and we became best of friends. Dave was well educated and quick with a quip or reply. We spent many hours together before the pandemic just talking, eating snacks and washing them down with a refreshing beer. During the pandemic we kept in constant contact on the internet. Dave was the reason I became a member of AMVETS at Post #1, some fifteen years ago. He was my brother from another mother. I will miss him, his smile and his insistence that he was always correct even when he knew he wasn't.
