David Edward Gardner's Obituary
David Edward Gardner, 61, of Fircrest, WA passed away January 12, 2019. He was born on July 17, 1957, in Ogallala, Nebraska. David was married to his best friend and love of his life, Susan, for 24 years. At 18 he joined the Air Force where he became interested in electronics and communication systems. This led to a 25 year career with Motorola Communications from which he retired at 50. He loved the golden retrievers he and Susan had over the years, enjoyed kite flying at the beach, and the many trips they took, especially those to Hawaii. At 50 David was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimers. Since June 2018 he was lovingly cared for by the care team at Narrows Glen Enliven and the Franciscan Hospice team both there and at Hospice House in University Place. He is survived by his wife Susan, sister Linda Malsbury (Bruce), brothers Mike (Beverly), Bill (Lucy), and Tom (Kristi). Dave’s kind heart, sly sense of humor, and warm smile will be greatly missed by all who knew & loved him. A private family kite flying celebration will be held this summer on the Oregon Coast.
