David L. Combs' Obituary
David Lee Combs "Paco"
Born August 29, 1937 to Dallas and Ruth Combs in Denver, Colorado; died January 8, 2016 at the age of 78. Dave, brother Bill, mom, and dad left Denver in 1950 and moved to Tacoma. Attended Jason Lee and Stadium. Went to vocational school and took up boat building; worked 15 years in that field for Glasspar and Fairliner. Worked at ASARCO for 14 years, then at Metro Parks for 18 years. Retired at age 69. "Loved my jobs." Paco was a fixture at Point Defiance Boathouse.
"I met my beloved wife, Connie, in 1959 and married in 1960. I believe Jesus Christ is my personal savior. I enjoyed working in my yard, hunting and fishing with my sons. There is a place in my heart for my wife, who was always ready for whatever came up. I had a heart attack and surgery in 2008. I survived both but had emphysema. I've been mostly house confined since then. Again, my wife has taken care of me. God bless her soul! Thanks to my sons for their support. May I rest in peace. Paco"
Survived by his wife Connie Combs, and sons Chris (and grandchildren Spencer and Emma), Craig, and Bill (and daughter in-law Marie and grandsons Blake and Max).
A Memorial for David will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, January 16th at the North End Community Church; 3502 N Mullen St., Tacoma, WA 98407.
