David Bartlett's Obituary
It is with extreme sadness we announce the unexpected passing of David Ronald Bartlett, age 73, on Thursday, October 27, 2022. David was born on March 28, 1949 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tacoma, the third of seven children.
David was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend. He is survived by his daughter Haley Konzel Pietrangeli (Frank Pietrangeli), and grandchildren Michael Konzel and Sarah Konzel. Siblings: Barbara Walton, Gregory Bartlett, Margaret Tippett, Suzanne Small (George Small). He was an uncle and friend to many. Predeceased him in death, parents Robert and Vivian Bartlett. Siblings: Robert Bartlett and suddenly youngest brother Jeffery Bartlett in June 2021.
David enlisted in the United States Army on March 18, 1968. He graduated from the United States Army Transportation School in September 1968 and was an aircraft repairman specializing in helicopters. In January 1969, David served with the 709th Maintenance Battalion, 9th Infantry Division in combat in The Republic of Vietnam. He received The Army Commendation Medal.
David loved being a dad and a grandfather. His daughter and grandchildren were the light of his life. He was very involved in their lives. He enjoyed watching sports, doing word search puzzles, and reading the Bible. He was strong in his faith.
In lieu of flowers, in memory donations can be made to the alma maters of David’s grandchildren. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren and wholeheartedly supported their education.
