David Ashbaugh's Obituary
David Leonard Ashbaugh, 73, of Seattle, Washington passed away on February 20, 2014, from complications while undergoing treatment for cancer. He was born to the late Bernice and Albert Schrawyer on May 12, 1940 in Tacoma, Washington. A graduate of Franklin Pierce High School, David then attended Washington State University and the University of Washington, and continued on to obtain his law degree from the University of Idaho. David was a distinguished Seattle lawyer and the senior founding partner of the law firm Ashbaugh Beal, where he continued to practice up until his passing. With over 40 years of experience, David served on the Board of Trustees with AGC of Washington, and was recently inducted into the University of Washington's Construction Industry Hall of Fame. David was an amazing father to five daughters and a great mentor, advocate, and friend to countless others. With a one of a kind twinkle in his eye and an unparalleled passion for life, David faced challenges head on and lived every second of every day to its fullest. He was also an avid and loyal sports fan who was able to watch the Seahawks win their first championship alongside his family.
David is survived by his five daughters: Cathy Fullerton, Julie Teske, Teri Ashbaugh, Becki Ashbaugh, and Amy Ashbaugh. He is also survived by his two younger brothers, Laran Ashbaugh and Arden Ashbaugh, and seven grandchildren, Amanda, Allison, Brandon, Gloria, Wyatt, Olivia, and Caleb.
A celebration of David's life will be held on Monday, March 3 at 1pm at Bellevue Presbyterian Church.
