I had the pleasure of working with with Derrick for the past few years and I have to let his family know he was one of the nicest, most pleasant and positive person I've ever known. I so appologize for not making it to the services. I was on my way to the funeral and my car starting acting up as it has the last few weeks. I really wanted to be there and pay my respects. I spoke to Derrick on my way home and said goodbye, I hope he knows I attempted to be there. My thoughts and prayers go out to his children and family. Darrick left an impression on my heart that I will cherish forever. I will always remember Darrick's bear hug. He was a caring man and he never failed to show his love to our family. Dear Bolton Family, Darrick was always a fun and happy person. I had the priviledge of knowing him in his life and being his sister-in-law. We constantly bickered about which team was better, the Bears or the Seahawks, especially in the late 80's when both teams were doing well. I will always remember putting oysters on the BBQ and Darrick and I were the ones who really chowed them down. He was a fine uncle to Jannica,Kerry, and Rick. Kerry said the other day "Darrick was my favorite uncle." God Bless

To the Bolton Family - I worked with Darrick for three years at Collins Transport. Darrick was my favorite driver and we talked every day. He was the best of the best! Darrick was a ray of sunshine that could brighten any room. I used to tease him because he had the best male handwriting that I have ever seen. Words cannot describe the pain I felt when I opened yesterday's newspaper and saw his beautiful face in the obituaries. It has been 5 years since I last saw Darrick, but I remember our conversations like it was yesterday. I pulled out my wedding video last night so I could hear those "words of wisdom" once again. Even though our time together was short, his memory will remain with me forever. I feel truly honored to have crossed paths with Darrick in this life. I know he is now soaring high with the angels. I know he is at peace and I pray that each of you will also feel that peace from God. You are all in my thoughts and prayers! May God truly bless all of you. To the Bolton Family,
Darrick was a co-worker of mine at the US Postal Service, and was an outstanding employee. Despite his illness, and the many ups and downs of his treatments, Darrick was always able to maintain his spirit and his sunny disposition always managaged to shine through.
One only had to know him for a short time to appreciate his humor, his strength, and his friendship.
