Darlene F. Whitbeck's Obituary
Darlene Faye Whitbeck (née Pike) died peacefully in St.Clare Hospital on December 11th, 2014 in Lakewood, Washington at the age of 60. She was born on October 12th, 1954 in Chandler, Arizona to Lavetta Jean Pike and Doyce Ray Pike.
Darlene is survived by her husband Glen Whitbeck; her children Kathy (& spouse Jason), Mayme (& spouse Mateo), Gregory, Raymond (& spouse Kristen), Ally, and Alen; her grandchildren Bear (Garrett), Brooklynn, Abegail, Panda (Matteson), Ryker and Erin; Her mother Lavetta; and her siblings Val (& spouse Larry & children Lance and Keven), Don, Jan, Debbie, and Becky. She is preceded in death by her father Doyce.
She graduated from Pierce College (with honors) and Clover Park with degrees in CNA, Cosmetology, and Computers. She married Glen Whitbeck, her best friend in 1979. After moving to Tacoma, Darlene began the lifelong experience raising her children. She was also a dedicated member of New Hope Church of the Nazarene and a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, December 20th at 2:00pm at Mountain View Funeral Home, Celebration of Life Center, Aspen Chapel, with a celebration of life to follow. Pastor Ned Floeter will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Darlene’s life.
