Darlene Chiyako Johnson's Obituary
Beloved Daughter, Cousin, Friend
“Together Again”
Our beloved Chiyako transitioned from this life on Friday, January 20th, 2023. A devout practitioner of Tenrikyo, denaoshi provides comfort in knowing that she will start anew with her loving parents, Albert and Kesano, who preceded her in this transition some years ago as well as her beloved dogs, Butchie Sr, Butchie Jr., Esse, Tiger and Nicole.
Chiyako lived “ the Joyous Life” abundantly. She practiced the tenets of her faith with rigorous devotion and diligence. A certified minister, she also reached out to pray and counsel those in need of spiritual support. For many years she traveled with her church for programs, mission work, celebrations and participated in meetings for the faith. She was funny, kind, charitable, hard-working, respectful of the earth, took pride in her health and wellness and thoroughly enjoyed her mission work. Petite in stature, Chiyako had the tenacity of a lion. She was a powerhouse. A woman of unwavering resolve and commitment; however, she was equally as kind and loving. Chiyako loved animals and children.
Her interests included sewing, writing Haiku poetry, cooking, and working in her garden. She enjoyed her sweets and of course getting ribs or having sushi. Storytelling was a favorite pastime of hers as well. When relaxing, she listened to her music with a cup of tea, watched television in Japanese or while eating sweet treats. Routinely, she talked to friends from around the country and abroad.
We are thankful for our beloved Cha-cha. We will cherish the beautiful memories of the times we shared throughout the years. She left an indelible imprint on all the lives she touched. We can laugh and smile about her sphere of influence. A friendly person, she could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. A generous and kind soul, she will be missed.
Chiyako’s love lives on,
Softly blooming like cherry blossoms,
Forever in our hearts.
Chiyako’s light shines on,
Kindness and love in her heart,
Forever in our souls.
Cherry blossoms bloom,
Chiyako’s love forever shines
Heaven’s angel- kind.
Gentle spirit- gone,
Chiyako’s love forever lives
In memories- warm.
Gentle Chiyako,
Kind heart, now at peace
Forever loved and remembered.
