Darlene Hilyard's Obituary
Our Beloved Darlene Hilyard was born on January 13, 1952 to Charles and Celia Harps Hilyard. Darlene went to be with the lord on January 21st 2010. Darlene was an advocate for children, though she did not have biological children she provided years of care and service to those in need. Darlene loved the Lord with all of her heart and mind; she was a praying woman and worked in the church with children and others who found themselves in need. She enjoyed the fellowship of several Church families as she was led from one congregation to another in pursuit of the work she felt called to do.
Darlene is survived by ten (10) Brothers and sisters Georgia Brinson, James Hilyard, Rosie Lewis, Otis Hilyard, Leslie Fulghum, Virginia Hankins, Tom Hilyard, Chester Hilyard, Norman Hilyard, and Lorenzo Hilyard: Aunt Etta Garret; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Mountain View Funeral Home will open for viewing and visitation on January 27th at 2:00 pm and remain open until 9:00 pm. located at 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW in Lakewood, Washington. The memorial service will be held Thursday January 28th at Life Center in the main sanctuary, Tacoma Washington. The Church service begins at 1:00 pm.
