I sold lumber & building materials to Dan when he was a young man & they first started building homes was a fine young man & always treated people equal. Dan was always fair, honest & always kept his word. Evan though I am much older than Dan I have thought of him many times over the years & thought what a fine example he was for other people to follow for a wonderful life. I was shocked to hear of Dan's sudden death. I saw Dan at the bank last week and we talked for a while.I remember the partnerships that we were in together and that Dan was an honorable and and fun partner. He will be missed.

To the Kelley Family,
Wishing you all the best in this difficult time and sad news. Dan was always so much fun to be around, I guess that’s what I’ll always remember. Even though I’m still shocked and saddened by the sudden news, somehow every time I think of him, I can’t help but smile and laugh.
Dan is my godfather and what a great person for that. He literally saved my life when I was a child, when I nearly drowned in the Winemiller’s pool. The way he told the story, it just kept getting better and more heroic every time (I think recent version compared him to diving in like Greg Louganis or swimming like Michael Phelps). There’s no way I can forget the great times playing basketball with Jeff and Ben; Dan giving himself the glorious nickname of “Chocolate Thunder†while me, being the smallest, was renamed “Duk Koo Kim.â€Â
I think his legacy will last for all time; no one could bring a group of friends together and make everyone laugh so much. To me, I’ll always remember how often he played with all the kids and how much fun we had. Although his passing was sudden and very sad, I guess I’m happy that his last day was spent playing golf with his friends and them playing in the lake with family. That sounds alright.

We are both shocked and very sad to hear of Dan's passing. The four of us did not spend much time together but the time we did spend was terrific. I had tremendous respect for Dan, his business sense and his willingness to share his experience. I always looked forward to seeing Dan at the Lyon's party and we will miss him.

Nancey and family. Although we don't know each other, Dan and I went separate ways a long time ago. I have many fond memories of childhood and our mutual experiences in the CWA first class. My sincere condolences and best wishes to you and your family. Having lost my wife as well I do understand the pain and sadness.
