My only memory of my father when I was young is a 1-minute memory inside a church during a service, not really sure which church or the time of year. I was super young, I have no idea how old I was, but I remember the space between pews was huuuuge (so I must have been tiny). My mom and dad were dressed up nicely, I don't remember what I was wearing. I was playing on the floor between the pews, making a lot of noise, and my father said, "settle down, or we'll donate you to the church." Everyone was smiling, it was a happy time, that's all I can remember.
My most fond memory of my Uncle Danny was when I was around 10 years old and we were visiting him and Gram. He sat and taught me how to say "I love you, I need you and I'll be true to you forever" in tagalog. I learned it and recited it over and over through the years.
I never forgot it and while we were focusing on the pronunciation at the time, the meaning behind the words stayed in my heart all these years:)
