Mr. Daniel Nicolas Bambini's Obituary
Daniel Nicolas Bambini, 80, of Tacoma passed away peacefully February 28, 2018. He was born in Iquitos, Peru on April 10, 1937 to parents Luisa Saldana and Julio Cesar Bambini. He is survived by his wife Judith and they were married for 53 years. He had three brothers and two sisters and is survived by one sister Rosa Isabel of Lima, Peru and two brothers Julio (Sue Ann) of Kansas City, Missouri and Carlos of Seattle, Wa.
Daniel grew up in Lima, Peru. After high school he became an air traffic controller in Lima. He then decided to follow his older brother Julio to the United States and planned to attend college. When he arrived in the States he changed his mind and joined the U.S. Army. He was stationed in France for 3 years. On his return to the U.S. he was stationed at Ft. Lewis where he met his wife Judi. They were married in December 1964 after dating for seven weeks. In May of 1965 he was shipped to Viet Nam. A year later he returned and was stationed at The Presidio of San Francisco which was followed by a year in Japan. He left the Army after nine years to spend more time with his wife.
He worked several years at Atlas Foundry and in 1972 he went to work for the telephone company and retired from CenturyLink in 1995.
He and his wife enjoyed many years of RVing and camping with friends and the Rolling Romans from the Sons of Italy. During those years of RVing they visited 267 National Parks around the United States.
Daniel and his wife also loved and visited his family in Peru often and enjoyed those times with all the family members, nieces and nephews and friends. He will be missed greatly but loved always.
