I worked with Dani years ago and considered him to be a good friend and beautiful person. When we worked at a grocery store together, folks would come in from time to time who needed a little extra help with groceries/food. He’d always find a way to help and I always admired that about him. We fell out of touch over the years and I searched for him on social media to remedy that recently. Was heart broken to hear the news. Dani truly made this world a better place with his kind, generous heart and beautiful soul. He is missed 💕

Dani changed my life. He was the first guy I ever dated and everything shifted when he showed up. He was the most beautiful person I'd ever met and I was in awe of his energy and terrified that our relationship could end at any moment. It was a short relationship but one I've always believed was meant to happen. He introduced me to real life gay culture and I will forever be grateful. Last year I had a dream about him and when I looked him up the next morning I found out that he had passed away. Although I hadn't seen him for many years I hope wherever he is he knows how many lives he touched in his short time here. He will always be an important part of my story, and I look forward to meeting him again on the other side. All my love, Dani. I miss you.

Dani was a gift in many people's lives, including mine. I will forever remember him to be a compassionate, caring, and loving individual who was deeply passionate about art, music, and friendships. He was a tremendous advocate for others, and I hope his parents, Carey and Dave, and other family members and friends find comfort knowing that he has a legacy that will live on in each of us. The photos are from the 2006 AIDS Walk, when he lifted so many people up with his words of hope and strength.
