Dane Joseph Viert's Obituary
Dane Joseph Viert, age 35, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, in Puyallup, Washington. He was born in Tacoma, Washington on January 28, 1988 to Nancy Lynn Viert and Gary William Viert. He is survived by both parents, his son Jax Viert (2), wife Chelsea Viert, his twin brother Cortland Viert, older brother Eric Viert, older sister Kristen Hanson, and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
Growing up in Lakewood, Dane was always active and loved playing sports. He played baseball all throughout his childhood and into his adult life. In school he not only participated in baseball, but also in football, wrestling and golf. Outside of school he was a competitive downhill ski racer at White Pass for nearly ten years.
Dane graduated from Clover Park High School in 2006. Being the avid sports lover he was, he went on to study Sports and Recreation Management at Central Washington University.
Dane was free spirited, kind hearted, accepting of all, and enjoyed making friends wherever he went. Dane loved dogs, cars, and attending sporting events of all kinds. He shared a precious unimaginable bond with his twin Cortland, whom Dane loved tremendously. More than anything Dane loved his wife Chelsea and becoming a father to their son Jax Joseph.
Dane’s larger than life smile, frequent laughter and loving heart will not be forgotten by the many lives he touched. He leaves family and friends with wonderful memories. We find comfort believing he is shining his bright light and warmth down on all of us, forever watching over Jax from heaven.
