Still trying to process hearing about Kiki’s passing today. I met her through Hope & Chance Integrated Health when I temporarily worked as her house manager, and though our paths crossed for only a season, she left an impression on me.
Kiki was strong, outspoken, fearless, and unapologetically herself. Sometimes she intimidated me a little — not out of meanness, but because she carried herself with such boldness and certainty. She knew who she was, even while carrying battles many people may never have understood.
What hurts me most is thinking about her children and the people she loved deeply. She spoke about them often, and you could feel how much they meant to her.
One thing I’ll always take from Kiki is the reminder to stand tall, speak up for yourself, and not shrink to make others comfortable. Even through everything she faced, she remained present as herself — and that takes a kind of strength many people never reach.
Rest peacefully, Kiki. You were unforgettable. 🤍
