Dallas A. Martin
Dallas was born December 4, 1922, in Tacoma, WA, to Louis and Bernice Martin. After saying goodbye to his family, he went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 24, 2012. He graduated from Lincoln HS in 1941, then attended PLU. WW2 interrupted his education, and after working at the Boeing Co., he decided to serve his country in the USN. Before the end of the war, he married Doris Irene Herren. They were married for 60 years. He retired from Pacific NW Bell after 38 years. He was an active member of Life Center Church and Grace Place Church for 88 years. Dallas was an avid outdoorsman and rock hound. He had a vast knowledge of animals, plants, trees, stones, and gems. In 2006, he married Alma Marush Gray and they spent six wonderful years together until his passing. He is survived by three children, Deanna (Ken) Malm, Sharon (Herb) Smith, Daniel (Patty) Martin, stepdaughter, Nora (Gordon) Linbo along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial will be held in his honor at Life Center Church located at 19th and Union in Tacoma on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at 2 PM.
