Dale W. "Buzz" Nelson Jr.'s Obituary
Dale W. “Buzz” Nelson Jr. was born in Devils Lake, North Dakota on May 26, 1955 to Dale and Arleen (Moen) Nelson.
At the young age of one, his family relocated to Tacoma, Washington. At the age of nine, Buzz started spending the summers in North Dakota with his Moen and Nelson relatives staying with his Aunt and Uncle, Chuck and Helen Nelson.
After graduating from high school, he returned to Devils Lake and was employed by Dakota Tribal Institute, Devils Lake Sioux Manufacture and the Lake Region Law Enforcement Center.
Buzz later returned to Tacoma, Washington and went to work with his Dad at Nelson’s 3-D Auto Repair. Buzz was a people person. He could stop and talk to anyone. He liked to joke with people and play tricks on people. His hobbies were collecting ships, light houses and his favorite was cars. His favorite of all was Diet Coke – he couldn’t function without it.
Buzz was proceeded in death by his Mother Arleen Nelson, Brother in law Duane Land and is survived by his Daughter, Julie Johnson and Fiancé Christopher Scott, his Father, Dale W. Nelson Sr., Sisters; Linda Land, Vickie (John) Coffing, Lori (Charlie) Blanchard, Debra McCaffrey, Brother, Dean (Sue) Nelson, and His four Grandsons; Kadin, Isaiah, Jacob and Levi.
Buzz is also survived by many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and one god-son.
