Dale R Steichen's Obituary
Dale R Steichen, 85, passed away September 13, 2017 in Tacoma, WA. He was born January 18, 1932 to Mary and Matthew Steichen. Dale was a graduate of Lincoln High School and the University of Puget Sound (1959).
Dale was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in Korea and Japan. He married Jacqueline Clinkingbeard on November 28, 1959. For 21 years he was employed by the National Bank of Washington in Accounting. He was later employed by the News Tribune until his retirement.
Dale was an active member of South Tacoma Christian Church, where he served as a Deacon, Trustee, and Financial Secretary for many years. In recent years, Dale and Jackie attended Temple Baptist Church in Fircrest, WA.
Dale was a regular blood donor. He loved Baseball and enjoyed umpire umpiring as a member of the WWUA.
Trips to the Oregon Coast were enjoyed by Dale and Jackie, as well as cheering the Tacoma Rainiers with family, as season ticket holders. He will be remembered as a loving and dedicated family man.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Mark and Ray. His beloved grandson, James Andrew Stojack passed away August 20, 2017.
Dale is survived by his twin brother, Don. Also surviving is Dale's wife, Jacueline (Jackie) of over 57 years; daughters Debra Stojack and Susan (William) Pebley; grandchildren Gregory, Michael, and Rebecca Stojack; and Laura (Andrew) Webster, Elizabeth, Rachel, and Hannah Pebley.
Heartfelt gratitude to ALL the didecated and compassionate staff at Tacoma Lutheran Home, where Dale resided for over 3 years. Memorial Service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the Aspen Chapel. Reception to follow in the Willow Room. Donations can be made to the American Parkinsons Disease Association at 150 Nickerson St. Ste, 100 Seattle, WA 98109.
