Dale (Bill) Dyment WhitneyDale Dyment (Bill) Whitney died Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at home after a short illness. Born April 18, 1914, in Tacoma to Dale Derrington and Stella Dyment Whitney. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Alta Bertha Whitney; 4 children, Maurice F. (Kaye); Dennis (Suzy); Duane (Sandra); and LoRene Whitney; 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren. A Latter-day Saint, he served in the High Priest Group and was a great home teacher. He was an Army Veteran and worked as a sheet metal journeyman. He was very handy and could fix almost anything. He saved everything. His family is still amazed with his ingenuity. Dad loved music and loved to sing and play the drums. He was an avid beach-comber, and rock hound who loved to be outdoors. He was unabashedly proud of his children and his grandchildren. Funeral Services at 2pm on Saturday July 17 at LDS Chapel, 2455 South 78th , Tacoma. Viewing prior to service at 1:00pm.
