CW4 Dean Kazuo Kaaiwela US Army, Retired's Obituary
CW4 Dean K. Kaaiwela Retired, 59, passed away on July 15, 2014 in Lakewood, WA. He was born on October 26, 1954 in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii to David and Barbara J. (Takeo) Kaaiwela.
He served in the U.S. Army for 20 years as a maintenance test pilot for Blackhawk helicopters. Following his retirement, he went on to work for the U.S. Post Office as a computer technician. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and flying. His family will miss him dearly.
Dean is survived by his sons Robert and Michael Kaaiwela; grandson Kyle Kaaiwela; brother Darrell (Drena) Kaaiwela; sisters Blanche (Jack) Baker, Barbara Jean “BJ” (Don) Vigil, Bonnie (Danny) Cabrerra; and ex-wife Cynthia Williams-Patnoe. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held from 10am to 3pm, Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Final services and burial will be at 2pm, Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Punchbowl National Cemetery in Honolulu, Hawaii.
