Cornell Addison Henton's Obituary
Cornell Addison Henton was born to Myrtle and Charles Henton on March 8, 1920 in Danbury, Nebraska, and went home on March 6, 2008. Preceding him in death were his brother Doran Henton, his first wife Billie Altizer, and his second wife Eva Blackburn. His life experience included the U.S. Army Air Corps as a sheet metal worker, repairing battle-damaged airplanes. He was a carpenter who was self-employed and also worked in several construction companies. He also worked at a neon sign company, the continental can company, one year of farming 120 acres in Oregon, Martinac and Lockheed Shipbuilding Companies, and spent just under twenty years as a maintenance machinist for the Tacoma News Tribune. All of these varied skills translated well in his work for the Lord. This work included many hours spent at the Delano Bay Christian Camp, the construction and upkeep of the Lakeview facility, and countless others he also helped with home projects or emergencies. He is survived by his two sons, Duane and his wife Sharon, their children Robert and Shannon, and six grandchildren, Tom and his wife Kathie, and their two sons Jeff and Scott. The memorial service will be held at the Lakeview Church of Christ, located at 1709 S. 112th Street, Tacoma, Washington, on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 6:00pm. Viewing will be from 5-9pm on Mon., March 10th at Mountain View Funeral Home, 253-584-0252. Remembrances may be made to the Delano Bay Christian Camp, care of the Lakeview Church of Christ.
