Cora M. Anderson's Obituary
Cora M. Anderson was born October 3, 1911 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She died peacefully in her sleep on May 25, 2006. Cora was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Joe T. Anderson. Survivors include her children Gary L. Anderson (Beverly) of Norman, OK, Duane R. Anderson (Sharon) of Tacoma, WA, and Carol Sturrock (Duncan) of Gig Harbor, WA; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; and her sister Martha Martinsen of Tacoma, WA. Cora was a woman that put God and her family first. She had a contagious smile, a positive attitude, and gave unconditional love to all she met. Led by her strong Christian faith, Cora was a quiet leader in her family and roll model to all. She was a member of the Daughters of Norway for over 50 years and marched with their drill team. Cora was also a life long member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where she actively gave of her time and talents. The organizations, the church and her family will be forever grateful for CoraÂ's strength and character.The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Weatherly Inn staff for the support and loving care Cora received.Remembrances may be made to the Anderson Memorial Scholarship fund at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 1315 N. Stevens, Tacoma, WA 98406Memorial services will be held at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
