Constance L. Stay's Obituary
Connie was born August 19, 1933 in Moorhead, MN to Werner and Georgia Stay and passed away April 28, 2006.Connie graduated from the PLU School of Nursing with an affiliation at EmanuelHospital in Portland, OR. She worked at Firlands TB Hospital in Seattle for several years.After moving back to Tacoma she took the position of evening supervisor at GoodSamaritan Hospital, which she held for 25 years, until her retirement.Connie was a member of First Covenant Church (Praise Covenant) where she was active in many areas, teaching Sunday school, Covenant Women, Properties committee and serving with Stephen Ministries.ConnieÂ's special interests in addition to caring for her extended family were gardening, tole painting, reading, traveling, spending time with friends and family, and caring for her special pets.Connie was preceded in death by her brother, James, who passed away on the same day four years earlier. She is survived by a sister, Angela (Allan) Berglund of Tacoma, brother, Byron (Claire) Stay of Maryland, sister-in-law, Karen Stay of Olympia and nieces and nephews: Mark Berglund, Lisa Berglund, Lavonne Northcutt, Jeffrey Stay and Nickolas Stay.Our special thanks to the staff of Franciscan Hospice House for their loving care forConnie in her final days. Viewing hours will be 11:00am Â- 9:00pm Thursday & Friday May 4th & 5th at Mountain View Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 11:00am, Saturday, May 6th, at Praise Covenant Church, 3501 So. Orchard St. Tacoma, WA.
