Connie Jean Woodruff's Obituary
Mrs. Connie Jean Woodruff peacefully passed away on November 26, 2017 at the age of eighty-five.
She was born on June 9, 1932 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to Myrtle and Clarence Glenn. She was married to her true love, Rev. Amzie Woodruff for over fifty years and he passed away in 2008. The couple raised their six children, who will humbly remember them as loving parents with high ethics and Christian values.
Connie was known for her style and grace; she would wear a hat like no other. Second to spending time with her family was taking a grandchild shopping to her favorite thrift store, St. Vincent de Paul in Tacoma. Considering she was a loyal customer, St. Vincent de Paul definitely knew Ms. Connie by her first name.
Connie loved to give her time by volunteering at Gray Middle School in Tacoma where the students called her "Grandma". She proudly wore her nickname and loved working with the kids. She also volunteered during elections at her voters' precinct. Connie was also recognized for her exceptional floral arrangements that were accented by her personal touch made for churches, weddings, and other events in the community.
Connie is survived by six children: Scarlett Watts, Tacoma; Larry Woodruff, Lynnwood; Phyllis Bowie (Lance), Anchorage, AK; Sheila Pearson (Arthur), Tacoma; Sidney Woodruff, Seattle; and Audrey Woodruff, Harlem, NY. Connie leaves behind ten grandchildren: Connie (Marcus) Warner, Thomas and Michael Watts, Keasha Woodruff, Katrina Blanco, Taylour Woodruff, Lance II (Emily), and Talia Bowie, Darnell and LaTroy Woodruff, and proudly wore the title "Gram Gram" to fifteen great-grandchildren: Joshua Woodruff, Cierra, Phyllicia and Brianna Matthews, Makayla and Jordan Warnerm Rayvon and Raheem James, Kyle Rae, Zoey, Ayden Bowie, Serenity Watts, Mia Blanco, Colby and Scott Woodruff. She also leaves behind her nephew, Ronald Glenn of Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Now that Connie is with the Lord and her husband, Amzie Lee, we are happy that she is at peace; however, we will always love and miss her dearly.
