I met Connie when I was fresh out of nursing school and joined the OB/GYN department at Wenatchee Valley Clinic in 1982. She took me under her wing and was a wonderful example of a kind, caring and competent nurse. She also had a funny, dry sense of humor and we enjoyed a lot of laughs together. We shared stories of hiking and pets and families. Connie was well-liked by her co-workers and the doctors. I have often thought of her over the years. I am sorry to hear of her passing, and hope that her family can be comforted by the many happy memories she leaves behind.

I met Connie as a young woman, new to Wenatchee. She must have seen I had a need and I remember her so fondly. I remember how they donated the dove for Grace Lutheran Church In Remembrance of her mother. The dove still hangs in our church. I can’t help but wonder if I’ll be traveling back to the west side to be near my daughter, some day as Connie did.

She never had a harsh word to say about anyone and was always ready to lend a helping hand or a kind, knowing smile that would feel as though everything would work out.
