Constance H. Hansen
Connie was born in Aberdeen, SD on 8/27/1941 to Juanita and Kenneth Blake. On Oct 27th she joined them, and her brother Wesley, and our Lord for an eternal family reunion. In Dec 1965 she married Jim Hansen and began a wonderful 43-year relationship. Connie is survived by Jim, their children and spouses Bob, Michael (Carol) and Suzanne (Jeff) and three grandchildren, Peter, and twins Ian and Maya, and sisters Vikki Straw of NY and Sue Boyczuk of AZ. Her most enduring memories are of her children and her career. All have been very special. She loved the holiday season, when the family would join together as one and celebrate achievements and successes. Connie earned her RN at LA County Hospital in 1962, her BS at Seattle U, MSN at the U of W, PhD at U of San Diego, and her midwifery at Frontier School in KY. Over the course of her career she trained hundreds of nurses at PLU, MSU at Great Falls, MT, UNR at Reno, NV and UWT in Tacoma. She also delivered 500 babies. She was a leader in many areas of her career and well respected by colleagues and students. Connie enjoyed her hobbies of sewing and quilting and loved to travel. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She loved the Puget Sound area and lived here on and off for over 35 years. Viewings will be at Mountain View Funeral Home Sat. 5-9PM, Sun 8AM-9PM. Mass on 2 Nov 2009 at St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Lakewood at 11AM with rosary at 10:30. Reception to follow. Burial at Mt Tahoma at 2:15 PM.
