Cliff and I worked together in Bellevue, WA as US Army Recruiters. He was my Station Commander, but more importantly, he was my friend. He was a great mentor and teacher, and the sincerest person I ever met in the military. Cliff was always there for anyone who needed assistance. I am sad he has gone on to glory, I will miss him. The passing of someone you admire will bring up the woulda, coulda, shoulda regarding to visits and checking in. Life has a way of altering time to give you the impression there will always be, but it’s only an illusion. Cliff, rest in peace and know that you will be missed.

My sincere condolences to the family of Clifford. He & I were friends from back in late 1970’s; track & field friends, phone pals, etc., & occasional South I Street tv watchers. He was always a gentleman; quiet, kind, concerned, and giving. Clifford was my buddy! He left for college, I remained in high school, and life happened for us both; many years later, he found me on Facebook! We picked up like even better, best friends! He’d call regularly, late at night, and we talked about EVERYTHING! When I came to town, he’d come visit, take me out to eat, buy me Almond Roca or several extra large B&I t-shirts, that I admired him wearing! He was a giver, a gentle, loving, lonely, empty, hurting, sad buddy. He’d laugh with me, even though I felt his pain. When he opened his apartment up to me, for visits, I knew he realized the trust barrier was genuine. He was my buddy. I’m so overwhelming saddened because, I didn’t set aside time to go visit my buddy before he was hospitalized, let alone gone to glory. I do take solace in knowing that we cared about each other, and he valued me praying for him. No more troubles of this world my buddy, rest in the arms of our Savior. With love always, Lisa❤️🙏🏽

Clifford, they say there is a reason. They say time will heal; neither time nor reason will change the way I feel. I learned to love you as a son a long time ago. We shared the loss of our sons. Your son made his transition to heaven on July 27, 2007, and my son transitioned two months later on September 21, 2007. Our time together was special. There is no greater hurt than that of losing a child. Now you have made your transition. I know you could not stay. Gone are the days we use to share, in my heart you will always be there. The gates of our memories will never close; I miss you more than anybody knows. When you lose someone you love it's important to remember that although you can no longer see them, you will always feel them in your heart and they will be with you wherever you go.

My Son,
I thought of you today, but that is nothing new. I thought of you yesterday and will tomorrow too. I think of you in silence and make no outward show. For what it meant to lose, only those who love you know. Remembering you is easy, I do it everyday, it is the heartache of losing you that will never go away. You gave no one a last farewell, nor even said goodbye. You were gone before I knew it, and only God knows why. I hope you know how much I love you, so many people care. So often someone says your name whispered in prayer. I hope you know that your son "Duke" is waiting for you, for where you are going, he is already there. I hope you know how many lives you have touched. I hope you know how heaven sees the difference you can make. The unique role, the special road that only can take. I hope you know God loved you long before your birth and He has been with you everywhere you went on this earth. He knows the pain you were in. He knows how lost you were after the loss of your son. He know that your earthly body was tired and that you were weary. He saw your road had gotten rough,and the hills were to hard for you to climb. You could not stay. So, God whispered to you "Peace Be Thine" and he took you home. It broke my heart to lose you Clifford, but you did not go alone. You took a part of my heart; the day God called you home.
