Cleveland Hilts III's Obituary
Cleveland Hilts, III, of Tacoma passed away on April 5, 2017 at the age of 68. Cleveland was born on January 16, 1948 in Seattle, Washington to Carrie Buitt and Cleveland Hilts, II. He was the second of nine children. He attended and graduated from Cleveland High School and shortly therafter began his career in the US Army. He retired from the Army after four years and made Tacoma his home.
Cleveland was a hard working, loving man who was kind hearted, dedicated and loyal to those close to him. He loved fishing, hanging with his family and friends; he took great pride in seeing his children being born and watching them become the people that they are.
Cleveland is survived by his children, Cleveland Hilts Jr., his daughter Tonya E.; sisters, Diana Johnson (Yakima, WA), Carolyn Daniels (Renton, WA) and Kathleen Anderson (Tacoma, WA); brothers Kenneth Johnson (Yakima), Paul Johnson (Seattle, WA), Leonard Johnson (Tacoma, WA), and Donald Hilts (Tacoma, WA); and many nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his sister Rose Hilts of Seattle who passed away in 2010, and Solomon Hilts who passed in 2016.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, WA 98499, and a Funeral Service on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Aspen Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home. Interment to follow.
