I remember Clay going through OCS together. Smart guy, all about his family and career and wanted to be the best he can be. My prayers with his family and love ones.
He will be missed by many.
I served along side for many years, fueling the many air craft he flew. While assigned to the 66th TAC, E 1/168th gsab and C 1/112th .
My brother, Clay, and I rode the bus up to Snoqualmie and attended Cascade Ski School.
He and my brother attend Mcilveigh Jr. High school in Tacoma. One time, my Dad had come to Mcilveigh to have a “discussion,” with Mr. Brown. . the principal concerning an issue involving my brother. I remember hearing about how they were cracking up laughing while in class, as they could hear Dad loud and clear at the other end of the hallway.
Clay really enjoyed spending time at my parent’s home. He especially enjoyed going hunting and fishing with my Dad and brother.
Most of all . . Thank you for your service in the Army as well as the National Guard. Clay, you will be greatly missed.
I was with Clayton on his deployment to Ramadi, Iraq (2008-2009). During the deployment we had a cultural lunch with the Sheik of Anbar Province. Here's a photo of Clay with the Sheik (in light colored suit) and the Sheik's cousin in traditional garb.
I only worked with him on the deployment and we didn't hangout much but based on what I've heard he has a big heart and will be very missed.
