Clayton A. Wetzel's Obituary
Surrounded by family, Clayton Andrew Wetzel passed away March 29, 2006 in Tacoma, Washington. He was born to Carl and Bernice (Bazzar) Wetzel, April 1, 1928 in Tacoma.Clayton graduated from Lincoln High School and had attended the College of Puget Sound.He served as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne and the 204th Field Artillery during the Korean Conflict.Clayton retired in 1989 from Pacific Storage and had worked for the Pierce County Election Center.He enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, gardening, and family gatherings. He was a member of Teamster Local 313, and the VFW Post 91.He was preceded in death by his parents and brother David. Clayton is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce, brother Dayton, children: Kathleen (Ralph) Ortiz, Carla Kelly, Cherie Wetzel, Clinton A. and Kristina (Daren) Salstrom; grandsons: Jason A. Kelly, Bryon A. Wetzel, Timothy R. Ortiz, Stephen C. Ortiz, andKevin S. Wetzel; granddaughter Jennifer L. Kelly, great-granddaughter Karla V. Kelly, nephew David Wetzel, niece, Heather Jackson and their families.Memorial services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, April 5, 2006 in the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center.
