Claus Petak passed away on March 24, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion.
Claus was the beloved husband of Sondra Petak and a dedicated father to Shawn Petak (Jennifer), Ryan Petak (Kjerstie), and Kevin Petak (Dameras). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Sativa, Kai, Finnigan, Gavin, Brandon, Elise, and Jade, who brought great joy to his life.
He was born on November 3, 1950, to Joseph and Gertrude Petak, who preceded him in death, along with his brothers Mike and Johnny, and his sister-in-law Heidi. He is survived by his siblings Jimmy, Bobby, Patty, Dawna, and Martha, with whom he shared a lifelong bond of love and cherished memories.
Claus worked for Nalley and several production companies, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.
He found great happiness in the simple joys of life. Claus loved camping, bowling, and cheering on his favorite football team, the Seattle Seahawks. He had a deep appreciation for 1960s and 1970s music, especially enjoying the songs of Elton John. He was also a fan of the television classic Perry Mason. Claus had a passion for cars, airplanes—both military and commercial—and history. He possessed a remarkable chronological memory, often recalling exact dates and details of personal, musical, and historical events.
One of his most treasured experiences was his visit to the Air Force Academy. He also loved spending time by the ocean and being with his family. Claus held close the tradition of making Polish sausage with his father and brothers, and he enjoyed good food, especially pizza, along with a cold beer and sweet treats.
Claus will be remembered as a patient and caring man, a devoted caregiver, a loyal friend, and a supportive and loving father.
He was a Christian believer and was baptized in the Catholic faith.
Claus’s life was a testament to love, family, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
