Claudia J. Matheny's Obituary
Claudia Joan Matheny, age 63, passed away on January 4, 2017 in Tacoma, Washington. Born on February 25, 1953 in Flin Flon, Manatoba, Canada. She was the third of 3 children to parents George and Dorothy Mathews. Claudia was raised in Tacoma, Washington and attended Mount Tahoma High School and Clover Park Technical College. After graduation she began her career in human resources.
Claudia could be described in the words of adventurous, jovial, stubborn, outspoken and courageous. She enjoyed camping and outdoors, her family, sewing and square dancing. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Bonnie Lads 'n' Lassies square dance club. The most important events in her life were the birth of her children and eventually her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Nina Reeves and her son Joshua Matheny; grandchildren Noah and Luke Halverson and Jackson Keeten; sister Carol Lazuruk and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends. She will be deeply missed.
Services for Claudia will be 9:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 in the Garden Chapel. A Reception will follow in the Celebration of Life Center, Oak Room at Mountain View Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
