Clarence Lunden's Obituary
Clarence David Lunden of Federal Way, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, February 6, 2011. Born on Sept. 23, 1926 in Pasadena, CA, David married Vauna Jean Kilcup on Feb. 2, 1952. A graduate of UCLA, David was an electronic engineer for the Boeing Company for 37 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vauna. The couple raised four children: Jeff (Glenna) of Benton City; Greg of Santa Barbara, CA; Jennifer (Dan) McCoy of Tenino, and Andrew (Brenda) of Orting. They have 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. David and Vauna enjoyed annual trips to Kaua'i for the past 25 years. Dave's diverse interests included gardening, Bible teaching, reading, camping at Lake Quinault, playing Scrabble, and continual learning. Of all Dave's many credits and accomplishments, he will be remembered best for his tender-hearted love and care for those who crossed his path over the years. Many recall Dave's ability to eloquently express ideas designed to provoke serious thought to the discerning listener. Funeral services will be held in the Valley Chapel at Mountain View Cemetery, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2011.
