Clarence Alonzo MumphordClarence A. Mumphord was born Sept. 13, 1913 in Victoria, Texas, and he passed away on Nov. 16, 2003 in Tacoma, WA. He completed school in Texas and enlisted in the US Army. After many tours in Germany and Vietnam, he and his wife relocated to Fort Lewis, WA., where he retired after 30 years of military service. Clarence worked at St. JosephÂ's Hospital in the security department for over 17 years and after a second retirement went to work for Burns Security.He is a member of the McKinley Hill Friends Church, Mt. Tacoma Elks Lodge #142, the Masonic Lodge, and American Legion Post #222. Clarence is survived by his devoted wife of over 60 years; Marjorie; daughter, Cleo Mumphord; sister, Pauline Rogers; 2 brothers Tony & Alvin Mumphord and many grandchildren.Visitation begins Sun. Nov. 23, 2003 from 12 noon until 9 pm at Mt. View Funeral Home. Services are 11 a.m. Mon. Nov 24, 2003 in the Mt. View Celebration of Life Building.
