Clara Jane "Jan" Halverson's Obituary
Clara Jane (Jan) Halverson, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away on April 15, 2021 in Tacoma, WA.
Jan was born in McPherson, Kansas on March 1, 1938. She married Gerald Edward (Jerry) Halverson on Sept. 6, 1957.
Jan’s greatest loves were her family and her church. She and Jerry traveled extensively, and especially loved spending time in Mexico. Together, they enjoyed weekly Skype calls with their granddaughter Danielle and family, and cheering on their grandson Jack at his cycling races. Jan enjoyed spending time with friends, reading, and working in her yard. Jan’s friends talk about what a good, kind, thoughtful woman she was, and how much they treasured her friendship.
Jan worked in the paralegal and business administration fields for most of her career, starting as a legal secretary and retiring as a professor from Pierce College, where she taught for 20 years.
Jan is survived by her husband Jerry in Tacoma; daughter Jill Hooper (Charles) in Olympia; daughter Janna Bardi (John) in Tacoma; granddaughter Danielle McKinnon (Tacarrie) in Chantilly, VA; grandson Jack Bardi in Tacoma; and great grandchildren Dillon, Trevor, and Taylin McKinnon.
