Cindy Lee Williams' Obituary
Cindy Lee Williams was born November 2, 1956 in Tacoma and passed away March 31, 2014 after a recurrence of cancer, she successfully fought in 2004.
Cindy and her family moved to “the farm” when she was 6 years old. She and her brother played on and in Clover Creek and their surrounding acreage and had what she always called an idyllic childhood. Cindy attended Bethel Schools, graduating with the class of ’75 from Bethel High School.
Cindy attended Central Washington State College for a short time, but found her true calling in Credit Unions. She was first hired as a teller at ALVA Federal Credit Union, and was schooled by some of the best managers in the ways of credit unions. She left ALVA FCU in 1992 to become the CEO of Minutemen Credit Union on Camp Murray. She loved her “Military Family” and was a proud supporter of the Washington National Guard. She was so happy that so many of those credit union members also become her friends. She always said her favorite working years were the 17 years she spent on Camp Murray.
Cindy loved her vacations and took every opportunity to visit many tropical locations. She loved saying that she’d seen Mayan ruins, swam with dolphins and even been to Atlantis. She also enjoyed Nevada, and of course local slot machines.
Cindy had just begun a second career in Real Estate and was looking forward to helping people once again, when the cancer returned.
Cindy is survived by her beloved parents, David and Gayle Williams and her big brother Craig (Sally). Also two nieces, Amber (Dan) Milfred and Ashley Williams, two great nieces and one great nephew. She also leaves behind numerous friends who were like family to her.
The family would like to express their gratitude for Franciscan Hospice for their gentle, loving care of Cindy and for the compassionate support of family members.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Franciscan Hospice or animal rescue cause.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday April 19, 2014 2:00 PM at Mountain View Funeral Home, Valley Chapel, with a reception to follow.
