Christopher Richard Johnson's Obituary
Christopher Richard Johnson, a gift from heaven, arrived 3:50am, Tuesday morning, February 9, 1982 in the midst of a driving snowstorm at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Christopher passed suddenly the morning of Tuesday, May 6, 2003 and was returned to whence he came.
He is survived by his father, Jonathan Johnson; mother, Stella Patterson and her husband, Don; grandmothers, Freddie Mae Barnett of Tacoma and Melvain Johnson of Albuquerque, NM; sisters, Stephanie Johnson of Tacoma, WA and Teri Tobin of Lemon Grove, CA; and step-siblings, Portia Watson, Marnie Patterson, Chelsea Patterson of Denver, CO, Brandon Patterson (Kay), of Atlanta, GA, uncles, Jerry Johnson of Albuquerque, NM, Karey Johnson of Athens, GA and Joe Johnson of Atlanta, GA; aunts, Janet Hunter of Albuquerque, NM, Joyce Terry of Denver, CO, Rev. Juanita Tucker (John) of Germantown, MD, Jewell Welford of Freehold, NJ, Liz Lattimore of Tacoma, Ann Miller of Athens, GA, Loree Fant (Charles) of Indianapolis, IN; one nephew, Wynton Jones of Lemon Grove, CA; and a host of cousins.
When born our date of birth is followed by a dash. For Christopher's brief 21-years he filled his dash with love, excitement, exceptional relationships, drama and above all music. He loved and was loved by his family, friends, and countless audiences that he charmed with dramatic, artistic talent and gifts. He was a recent student at Cornish College of the Arts, Seattle, WA.
Viewing will be from 2pm to 9pm (family at 7pm), Friday, May 9, 2003 at Mountain View Funeral Home.
Services will be 5pm, Saturday, May 10, 2003 at the Life Center, 1717 S. Union Ave., Tacoma, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Christopher R. Johnson Fund, c/o Stadium High School, 111 North I Street, Tacoma, WA 98403. The fund will support drama and theatre activities for students at Stadium High School.
