Chester C. "Chet" Hansen
A proud Danish - American, age 87, passed away July 27, 2008 in Tacoma, WA. Born July 17, 1921 in Plentywood, MT to Theodore and Emelia Hansen. After high school, he joined the Army Air Corps. During World War II, he was a crew member on a B-17 in England. After the war, the family moved to Tacoma, where he attended Bates Vocational School and studied sheet metal. He joined the Sheet Metal Workers Union, and was a member all his life. His last job was the Tacoma Dome for Air Systems, Inc. Active in the VFW, Amvets, and Cooties for many years, he volunteered at the Old Soldiers' Home in Orting, WA. He enjoyed woodworking, building beer birdhouses, and loved to travel the U.S. Survived by son Glen Hansen, Sr. (Beverly), daughter-in-law Debbie Hansen, step-son Bud Arthur (Barbara), 7 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, numerous step-great-grandchildren, and many friends. He was preceded by wife Hazel and sons Steve, Sr. and Chris, Sr. Services in the Mountain View Garden Chapel Sat. Aug. 2, 2008 at 1pm. Viewing Fri., Aug. 1, from 2-9pm.
