Charlotte LarsenCharlotte Larsen was gathered into her SaviorÂ's arms on December 16, 2002. Charlotte was born to John and Clara Goplerud on March 5, 1918 in Silverton, OR. She was the youngest of four children. She attended Pacific Lutheran University where she sang in the Choir of the West and earned her baccalaureate degree in elementary education. Charlotte taught at Sheridan Elementary School in Tacoma from 1939-1946.Charlotte married Haakon Larsen on June 10, 1944. For most of the next 54 years, they made their home in West Seattle, where they raised two sons. For Charlotte and Haakon, their faith in God was the foundation on which they built their family, their home and their relationships with others. Their church served as the hub of their activities as well as the source of many friendships. Charlotte played the piano and organ for the church for more than 50 years, and continued to play the piano for weekly chapel services in Woodland, WA, after she and Haakon moved into a retirement community. Haakon preceded her in death in 1999.Survivors include sons Donald (Janice) Larsen of Tacoma and Robert (Cindy) Larsen of Woodland, and grandchildren Karl, Jon, Elisabeth and Andrew. Visitation will be Saturday, December 21, 2002 from 9:30 to 11:30am at Mountain View Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at noon. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, at Westwood Christian Assembly, 9252 16th Ave. S.W., in West Seattle. Memorials may be made to Westwood Christian Assembly or to the American Heart Association.
