Charlie Campbell's Obituary
Charlie was born on Oct. 11, 1912 in Edgar, FL, and passed away on Feb. 14, 2004 in Tacoma, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Maggie (Jackson) Campbell, and brother Eddie Campbell and his twin sister Susanna (Campbell) Green. Charlie served our country bravely in WWII, and retired from the Army in 1963. While stationed in Japan after the Korean War, he met and married Haruyo Takada of Ogaki, Japan. Charlie later retired from the Wash. St. Highway Dept. as a cook in Hyak, WA. He was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the church choir. He is survived by his wife Haruyo Campbell of Tacoma, WA; sons Gilbert, of Seattle, and Floyd, of Tacoma; daughter Susan R. Schuler, of Bothell; seven grand children; and 1 great grandson.There will be a viewing at Mountain View Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004 and a memorial service Friday, Feb. 20, at 1pm at the Mt. View Celebration of Life Center. There will be a reception following the service at the Eastside Baptist Church, 3575 E. Portland Ave.
