Charles (Charlie) Eric Wodenscheck, Jr.
On October 19, 2013, Charlie Wodenscheck age 59, passed on from his long courageous battle with kidney cancer. He died in his home in Puyallup, Washington with his wife Valerie at his side.
Charlie was born in Syracuse, New York on September 8, 1954 to Charles and Janet Wodenscheck, both who have preceded him in death.
He was the second child of six brothers and sisters: Jennifer, Ahna, Laura, Carl and Janet.
Charlie graduated from Mount Tahoma High School in 1973.
He served in the United States Army from 1973 (Vietnam) to 1993 (Gulf War).
Charlie retired from the Army as a Master Sergeant who was an Airborne Ranger, Special Forces Medic; he received a Purple Heart while serving his country. He was honored to serve in the military and often said he “Got paid to play”. He was a member in the Special Forces and Rangers associations.
He graduated from Tacoma Community College in 1996 with an Associated of Arts/Sciences in History/Philosophy. He was an avid photographer.
He also had an extreme goal: Try “Every Burger Joint” in the northwest, and he almost made it!
Charlie was survived by his partner/ wife of 17 years, Val Morales, his son John Wodenscheck, his son’s wife Rose Eberhart, stepson Peter Morales, stepdaughter Jessica Throgmorton and her husband Tristan, his grandson Jackson Throgmorton, numerous nephews and nieces and Maggie Mae, his beloved dog.
Charlie spent a lot of time in his last years trying to bring his family and friends into his heart and he appreciated the time God had given him to accomplish that.
