Charles W. Thompson's Obituary
Charles (Chuck) Thompson was husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, son, decorated WWII veteran, Shriner, realtor, Air Force Chief Master Sergeant, retired, and small business owner.Chuck is survived by his wife of 35 years Helen Thompson; sister Dr. Alta Rahn; daughters Charlotte Thompson (Nik Dunbar), Cynthia Bremer (Karl), Yvette Carter (J.C.) and Patricia Colson (Dean). Grandchildren are Laurie and Don Robison; Patrick, Michael, Sean, and Susanne Stern; Jeny Carlson; Rebecca Padilla; Sunday Stoner; and Brandon Stoner. Great-grandchildren are Cody Robison, Robert Riley, Kyle Stoner Annika, and Erika Carlson, Alex and Miranda Stern. Preceding Chuck in death were his parents James and Alta Thompson of McLean, NY; brothers James and John Thompson.Chuck was raised a farm boy in rural NY state, but joined the Army-Air Corps after high school graduation. He served his country during WWII in N. Africa, Italy, and France, then came home to operate a small grocery-general store in Brisben, NY. He later re-enlisted in the Air Force and served 22 years to his retirement. Following retirement he turned his attention to real estate in the Tacoma area and his lifelong commitment to Shrine, Tacoma Elks #174, and Henry A. Green Masonic Lodge.Chuck (Dad) will be remembered in the hearts of his family always.Services will be held on Saturday, October 9th at 10 AM at Mountain View Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW.
