Charles Richard Kistler
Charles Richard Kistler was born on February 28, 1932 to Charles L. and Mary Kistler. Charles died surrounded by family on Friday September 18 at 3:30 PM from a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Charles was survived by his beloved wife Chong Suk Kistler, 2 sons: Timothy James Kistler and Jung Sup Lee. He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren: Mitchell Lee, Adrian Lee, Mary Kistler, Amy Busch and Carl Busch. Charles was a POW of the Korean War, served in Vietnam and finished his dedicated career as a civil servant for the Fort Lewis Fire Department. During his 24 years in the military Charles received numerous accolades including Purple Heart Medal and Prisoner of War Medal. He continued to display his pride in and unwavering dedication to this country to his last breath with his Wife and Son by his side. The loss is painful, but we all find solace in the overwhelming and enduring impact he had on the country and the people he loved so much. Services will be held this Friday September 25th at 11 AM., Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church, 14601 A St. S, Tacoma, WA 98444.
